Our reliable, secure, and accessible email system will be designed exclusively for elected municipal chief executives, reflecting the reality that mayors are the final decision-makers during emergencies.
Town managers, volunteers, and agencies will coordinate with mayors through established channels, but mayor.email itself will remain a mayor-only communication domain, preserving authority, clarity, and trust.

Mayor Email will be a dedicated, secure, and purpose-built email system created specifically for mayoral communications during emergencies, disruptions, and continuity-of-government operations.
It will not be a consumer email service, a general municipal IT tool, or a mass-notification platform. Instead, it will function as a trusted executive communications backbone for mayors when reliability, authenticity, and speed matter most.

Mayor Email will be designed to operate before, during, and after emergencies, including: Severe weather events Prolonged power or telecommunications outages Regional disasters where outside assistance is delayed Infrastructure failures affecting water, heat, transportation, or public safety Its value will be greatest before a crisis begins, ensuring that mayoral communications are already established, trusted, and operational when conventional systems degrade or fail.

Mayor.email will be accessible wherever a mayor must lead from, including: Town halls and municipal offices Emergency operations centers Fire stations and public safety facilities Community halls designated as shelters Temporary or mobile command locations The system will be architected for location independence, allowing mayors to communicate securely even when operating outside normal offices.

Mayor.email will be proposed in response to a fundamental preparedness gap: Consumer email platforms will not be designed for municipal emergencies. They will: Share infrastructure with millions of unrelated users Remain vulnerable to spam floods, account lockouts, policy enforcement, and impersonation Offer no guarantee of priority delivery during regional crises A mayor-only email domain will: Instantly signal official authority and authenticity Reduce misinformation and spoofing during emergencies Preserve executive control over communications Reinforce the mayor’s role as the central, trusted voice of the community In future emergencies, clarity, trust, and speed will determine outcomes, not features or convenience.

Mayor Email will aspire to become a game changer by being engineered around mayoral realities, not consumer assumptions: Exclusive Domain Authority Messages sent from @mayor.email will be immediately identifiable as official mayoral communications. Security by Design The system will prioritize restricted access, strong authentication, and minimized attack surfaces appropriate for executive use. Reliability and Performance Infrastructure choices will emphasize uptime, message integrity, and operational continuity during disruptions. Operational Simplicity Mayor Email will complement—not replace—radios, sirens, in-person coordination, and community protocols. Email will serve as the digital command layer, not a fragile dependency. Continuity of Leadership Even if social media platforms, consumer email services, or cellular networks fail, mayor.email will be intended to preserve a direct, authoritative channel for mayoral leadership.

Mayor Email will be proposed as emergency communications infrastructure —not an IT convenience. As a work in progress, it will aim to provide mayors with a secure, reliable, and unmistakably official communication channel when trust is scarce and time is critical.
If adopted, mayor.email will help ensure that mayoral leadership remains visible, authoritative, and operational when communities need it most.
